Point S members dig deep for charity

While Point S members are most widely known for their tyre and car servicing expertise, a little less known fact is that many members of the network also provide another great service to their local community – raising vital funds for charity. To give you an insight into some of our latest efforts, here are just a few examples of the fantastic work carried out by some of our teams recently.

15 year old Jordan Tillyer, daughter of Tyremarks’ of Tavistock Mark Tillyer, recently completed a 16 mile cycle ride from Tavistock to Plymouth, raising nearly £2,000 for Devon Air Ambulance.

Jordan sadly lost her uncle in a tragic accident after he rolled a tractor while preparing a motorcross circuit at Newton Abbott. Inspired by the efforts of the air ambulance, Jordan has pledged to do one big event each year to raise money to help the charity and keep her beloved uncle’s name alive.

Meanwhile Rugby based TW Tyres raised a fantastic £2,200 during December for their local children’s charity, the Brady Club. TW Tyres recognises the important work carried out by the group who provide local children with a place to go after school and during the school holidays. The charity teaches them valuable life skills, helping to enrich their lives. With such an important contribution to the local community, TW Tyres makes their Brady Club fund raising efforts an annual affair.

Another busy member is A&A Tyres, based in Cardiff who, like Tyremarks, have an important family reason for their charity efforts. With a son who had to wait two years for a diagnosis for epilepsy, Craig Williams leads his colleagues in helping to raise money for children with epilepsy.

Last year, the team completed a gruelling bike ride from Brecon to Cardiff and this year, they’ll be hosting five charity golf days for customers. So far the AA Tyres team has raised an amazing £45,000 for the epilepsy unit at the Children’s Hospital of Wales.

I’m sure you’ll agree that these are all fantastic stories and will join us in giving the Point S members a big ‘thanks’ and ‘well done’. If you’re inspired by any of these stories and would like to donate to their efforts, then contact us here.
